Venting about my vent!
A quick vent about my dryer's vent.

I'm working on try #4 to get my dryer side-vented so I can have a bit more room in my washer/dryer closet. A large company based in the States who I will not name keeps sending idiots to do the seemingly simple job of side-venting my dryer. Last time (last Tuesday) they brought the wrong part. Also, today when I was doing laundry the stacking kit (the thing that holds the dryer on top of the washer) broke, so it looks like they re-installed that incorrectly after doing nothing but take the dryer off and put it back on top of the washer. The time before that the technician said he was coming between 8am and noon two Saturdays ago and he never showed or called. The time before that the technician was to come two Tuesdays ago but called when he was supposed to be here to say he wasn't coming because he didn't have the part.

And to make matters worse, when I called today to tell them they also needed to bring a stacking kit when the come for try #4 next Tuesday, they said they would give me a $25 certificate to spend at their store. Alas, last week when I called to complain about trys #1 and #2, the amount was $50. It keeps getting lower as the problems get bigger and bigger. There's some mathematical relationship they must be using. Oh ya, it's compensation=(1/# of complaints)*100.

This is so infuriating!!!

Yes, but don't you feel better now that you've vented? I think you're gonna love blogging. It's so therapeutic. :)

Blogging=Fun.

Yup, I do feel sorta better. I'll be so much happier when this fiasco is all over and I can laugh about it.

Ooo, I so hear you. I've been on the phone chasing contractors to fix things since I moved in. It would be a lot less painful if I could just do everything myself!

We had that problem!

We had similar woes with our over the range microwave (which we love). But it took us a couple of months to get it installed. The first guy told us the cabinet was wrong. The cabinet guy told us it was right. The next guy was a moron. Finally we got a hold of one of the Sears installers and he put it in within half an hour.

The other annoying thing about it was that the price of a over the range microwave dropped by about half during those six months. Crimey!
